{"id":467,"date":"2020-10-01T00:00:23","date_gmt":"2020-09-30T15:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ilec.or.jp\/ILBMTrainingMaterials\/?page_id=467"},"modified":"2021-04-02T18:22:02","modified_gmt":"2021-04-02T09:22:02","slug":"welcome","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ilec.or.jp\/ILBMTrainingMaterials\/","title":{"rendered":"HOME"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<h2>Welcome<\/h2>\r\n<p>This website contains the training materials used in the Integrated Lake Basin Management Training Course.This &#8220;ILBM Training Course&#8221; is sponsored by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jica.go.jp\/english\/index.html\">Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)<\/a> and is being executed by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ilec.or.jp\/\">International Lake Environment Committee (ILEC) Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<p>Here you will find training <a href=\"http:\/\/ilec.or.jp\/ILBMTrainingMaterials\/modules\">modules<\/a> on various topics related to <a href=\"http:\/\/ilec.or.jp\/ILBMTrainingMaterials\/wp-content\/uploads\/Nakamura1.pdf \">ILBM<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilec.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/46fddaf949a81e2a87100764b43462c3-1.pdf \">ILLBM<\/a>. Each of these modules contain three main parts:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>A written report and presentation on the given topic.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Additional reports and presentations on additional topics related to the main topic.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Some short, self-study questions.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>The modules are based on the book <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilec.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/copyable-LBMI_Main_Report.pdf\">&#8220;Managing Lakes and Their Basins for Sustainable Use: A Report of Lake Basin Managers and Stakeholders&#8221;<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilec.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/pub\/LBMI-Appendix_Map.pdf\">Appendix<\/a>, published in 2005 by ILEC as the final output of the Lake Basin Management Initiative, a cooperative program among various<br \/>\r\ninternational organizations including ILEC, the World Bank, the Global Environment Facility, UNEP, UNDP,Ramsar and Shiga Prefectural Government. For an in-depth description of the methods used in the LBMI project,please see &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/ilec.or.jp\/ILBMTrainingMaterials\/wp-content\/uploads\/methodology_of_learning_presentation.pdf\">Methodology for Learning Within and Across Lake Basins: The Lake Basin Management Initiative Approach.<\/a>&#8220;<\/p>\r\n<p>The online modules are written in a user-friendly manner and we hope that they will help not just the trainees of the JICA\/ILEC Course on Integrated Lake Basin Management Training Course but anyone else interested in promoting sustainable lake basin management.<\/p>\r\n<p><!--\t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n<p>The concept of Integrated Lake Basin Management &mdash; which forms the core framework for the training course &mdash; has been explained in a easy-to-understand manner in several documents. For example, a reader looking for a quick overview should browse through the leaflet entitled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ilec.or.jp\/eg\/pubs\/ILBM\/ILBM_Leaflet_%20E_07oct02.pdf\">\"Integrated Lake Basin Management: Threats to world lakes\"<\/a> or the <a href=\"http:\/\/ilec.or.jp\/ILBMTrainingMaterials\/wp-content\/uploads\/Nakamura1.pdf\">Plenary Presentation on ILBM<\/a> presented at the 12th World Lake Conference by Prof. Masahisa Nakamura.
