ILEC hosted a follow-up meeting to discuss the progress and issues on the proposals for the national policy on lake management of the Republic of Kenya which agreed at the ILBM international symposium and workshop held in Kenya in August 2016. In this meeting, five participants from the Republic of Kenya formulated an execution plan for the coming years based on the lessons learned from the national policies of India, Philippine, Nepal and Malaysia, including Legal System Concerning Special Measures for Conservation of Lake Water Quality in Japan (March 22-24, 2017).
