At the 79th United Nations General Assembly, the UN designated August 27 as “World Lake Day.” This date was chosen in honor of the first World Lake Conference, held on August 27, 1984, by the shores of Lake Biwa in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture. To celebrate this significant occasion, we want to accelerate the #WorldLakeDay hashtag campaign on Instagram. Let’s take more action!

1．How to Participate

• ▶ Post your favorite lake photos and videos along with your love for the lake and a message about lake conservation!

• ▶ Share them with the hashtag #WorldLakeDay!

• ▶ Don’t forget to tag ILEC’s official Instagram account: @ilec1986!

2．Benefits

• ▶ Outstanding posts will be featured on ILEC’s official social media accounts and contribute to raising awareness and promoting “World Lake Day!”

3．Campaign Period

• ▶ From November 22, 2024, to August 27(WLD), 2025.
