What is the role of youth

Youth, you have a vital role to play in Integrated Lake Basin Management (ILBM)! By forming environmental organizations, engaging in policy advocacy, and promoting awareness through citizen science, you can make a real difference. Use technology to develop monitoring tools and eco-friendly solutions, and help secure financial resources through initiatives like sustainable tourism. Share knowledge with your peers by visualizing data and connecting through international networks. Your active participation strengthens governance and paves the way for sustainable lake management. Now is the time to take action!

TOPICS

World Lake Day!

All life depends on freshwater, yet lakes often go unrecognized. To change this, we are launching a Day of Global Action for Lakes to highlight their vital role.
At the UN Water Conference in March 2023, the need for a World Lake Day was acknowledged to raise global awareness and action.
World Lake Day will raise awareness, promote education, and foster collaboration for sustainable lake management. By uniting science, communities, and international partnerships, we can protect lakes and advance the SDGs.
Join us in amplifying this mission with the #WorldLakeDay campaign
