ILEC participated in the 82nd Annual Meeting of ICOLD (International Commission on Large Dams) in Bali, Indonesia. Dr. Masahisa Nakamura, chairperson of ILEC Scientific Committee, gave a presentation titled “The Evolving History of Lake Biwa Weir” at a regular session. In addition, the Organizing Committee kindly provided an opportunity for ILEC to hold a special session, where Dr. Nakamura gave a presentation titled “World’s Lakes and the Role of International Lake Environment Committee (ILEC).”
