The program for the “SLM Forum: Promoting Sustainable Lake Management (SLM): Co-Creating a Better Future,” organized by ILEC and scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2024, has been finalized.
In the first part of the forum, discussions will focus on topics such as “Source-to-Sea,” “Education and Support,” and “World Lake Day,” with a view to connecting these discussions to the 20th World Lake Conference (WLC20) to be held in Brisbane, Australia, next July. Panelists will include a diverse group of experts from Australia, the WLC20 host; past conference hosts such as Indonesia, Mexico, and the United States; as well as UNEP (Kenya), the Ministry of the Environment, Shiga Prefecture, and Taneya CLUB HARIE, totaling eight experts from six countries.
In the second part, young politicians, researchers, and students from Japan, Mexico, Australia, the Philippines, Hungary, and Uganda, totaling 12 (+) participants from six countries, will come together to showcase their vibrant environmental conservation activities through research, ecotourism, and app utilization. We will advocate for youth engagement and support for the establishment of “World Lake Day.”
Join us online for the forum and follow WLC20 for the latest updates!
